‘Prince of Peace’ is a title used for Jesus specifically. Where ‘Jehovah Shalom’ referred to God the Father, the title ‘Prince of Peace’ refers to God the Son, Jesus Christ. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one God, and by their nature are peaceful and bring peace.
This title is explicitly given to Jesus in the prophecy of Isaiah 9:6-7:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.Isaiah 9:6-7
The title is also alluded to in the prophecy of Micah, where Jesus is described as a source of peace.
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.” 3 Therefore Israel will be abandoned
until the time when she who is in labor bears a son,
and the rest of his brothers return
to join the Israelites. 4 He will stand and shepherd his flock
in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they will dwell securely, for then his greatness
will reach to the ends of the earth. 5 And he will be our peace
when the Assyrians invade our land
and march through our fortresses.
We will raise against them seven shepherds,
even eight commanders,
6 who will rule the land of Assyria with the sword,
the land of Nimrod with drawn sword.
He will deliver us from the Assyrians
when they invade our land
and march across our borders.Micah 5:2-5
When we declare that Jesus is the Prince of Peace, we can live securely in the knowledge that He watches over us as a shepherd watches over his flock, and He will be our peace in the midst of storms and trials (Micah 6:4-5). We can rest in the knowledge that there is no end to God’s peace and governance, which is just and righteous (Isaiah 9:7).

Consider God as the Prince of Peace.
Take some time to meditate on this aspect of God and worship Him for being your Prince of Peace.
Write down what it means for God to be the Prince of Peace in your life.
