‘Light of the World’ is a title that Jesus speaks over Himself (John 9:5). Jesus is also described as being the true light that gives life to everyone in the Gospel according to John:

God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

John 1:6-9

When we refer to Jesus as the light of the world, we acknowledge that He is more powerful than darkness and sin. We also acknowledge that He shines God’s truth and love to the world.

Consider God as The Light of the World.

Take some time to meditate on this aspect of God and worship Him for being The Light of the World.
