The name ‘Adonai’ is used a lot in the Old Testament and occurs 434 times. The name ‘Adonai’ is used especially in Isaiah and Ezekiel and is the verbal parallel to ‘Yahweh’ and ‘Jehovah’.
‘Adonai’ (plural) is a title that means ‘Lord’ or ‘Master’, the singular form being ‘adon’; humans and angels are generally referred to as ‘adon’ in the Bible, whilst God is always referred to as ‘Adonai’; God is the Lord of lords, as it says in Deuteronomy 10:
For the Lord your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords. He is the great God, the mighty and awesome God, who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed.
Deuteronomy 10:17
When we declare God is Adonai, we declare His sovereignty and authority over us. We declare that He is Lord over us, the One who rules over our lives and whom we follow with complete obedience.

Consider God as your Adonai.
Take some time to meditate on this aspect of God and worship Him for being your Adonai.
Write down what it means for God to be your Adonai.
